Aggreko has expanded its Canadian rental fleet with three Tier 4 Final diesel generators built for remote work sites. The line includes 145 kW, 210 kW and 1,200 kW units, all rated at 600V and offered exclusively to Canadian contractors.
The generators are configured to meet Canadian electrical and fuel requirements. Aggreko says all three models are CSA and UN31A compliant and combine the company's current generator technologies with hardware intended for local market conditions. The equipment is positioned for commercial and industrial users that need temporary, low-emissions power.
The 1,200 kW model is the largest of the group and features onboard 600V capability. According to Aggreko, this removes the need for separate step-up transformers. The company says direct 600V output can simplify project planning, improve cost efficiency and reduce potential failure points, particularly where large industrial loads already require 600V service.
The smaller 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that Aggreko describes as readily deployable for immediate power needs. The 1,200 kW unit is aimed at larger industrial applications. With the additions, Aggreko's Canadian fleet now ranges from 25 kW to 1,200 kW.
Target markets and service support
Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said adapting the company's advanced generators for Canadian customers reflects the importance of the market. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining operations that need power across remote territory, as well as construction and data centre activity. Nascimento said these sectors create demand for engineered energy solutions that are both powerful and closely matched to operating requirements.
Aggreko's Canadian service centres support customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events. The company's energy experts work with customers to deploy temporary power for different applications across those industries.
Aggreko says the three generators offer strong fuel efficiency, low emissions and controlled noise levels that exceed local requirements. The company sees particular potential in Canada's data centre sector, where provincial regulators look to limit how much power operators draw from the grid. In that context, Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid power while being minimally disruptive to nearby communities, according to Aggreko.
The new models are part of Aggreko's effort to offer Canadian contractors generators that are ready for local regulations and remote operating conditions without requiring additional electrical equipment in the 1,200 kW case.
