Apollo Tyres Ltd reported a 17% increase in consolidated revenue for the second quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, supported by growth in its Indian operations, and announced a change at the chief financial officer position.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2026, revenue from operations rose to Rs 7,968 crore from Rs 6,831 crore a year earlier. Operating profit was Rs 855 crore. Net profit increased 13% to Rs 292 crore from Rs 258 crore, according to the company's unaudited consolidated results. The latest quarter included an estimated pre-tax restructuring cost of Rs 26 crore, which Apollo disclosed as an exceptional item.
First-half performance
In the six months from April to September, consolidated revenue increased 15% to Rs 15,366 crore from Rs 13,392 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Operating profit for the half-year was Rs 1,723 crore, while net profit reached Rs 641 crore, compared with Rs 271 crore a year earlier. The half-year result also included the Rs 26 crore estimated pre-tax restructuring charge.
Apollo said its Indian operations carried strong revenue growth momentum into the second quarter, reflecting the effect of its growth initiatives.
Demand drivers and headwinds
Chairman Onkar Kanwar attributed growth across categories in India to continued rural expansion and a strategic association with cricket. He also said new product launches in the commercial vehicle segment had strengthened performance during the quarter.
Kanwar identified geopolitical tensions in West Asia as a continuing headwind, saying they had resulted in higher input costs and supply chain disruptions. The statement did not quantify the financial impact of those pressures.
CFO appointment
The board approved the appointment of Ravi Kumar Shingari as chief financial officer, effective November 4, 2026. Shingari joined Apollo Tyres in 2018 as group head of finance and has held responsibilities in budgeting, accounts and investor relations. He was more recently given additional responsibility for legal matters.
Before joining Apollo, Shingari spent more than 16 years at KPMG, where his last assignment was partner for tax and regulatory services. He is a chartered accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in commerce, B.Com (H), from Shri Ram College of Commerce at Delhi University. In the CFO role, he will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director.
